Re: W10 update issue

I'm running Win10 Pro, ver.1909, OS Build 18363.476 and I'm not seeing any issues anywhere. Edge, Firefox and Chrome all work as well as the native Win10 desktop app.

Re: Apple TV Setup

Thanks, Interesting as HDHomeRun says will work with Apple TV. So the questions is whether to gamble $25 on the "Channels" app which apparently does the trick. But then will the built in DVR on Scribe work? The Channels DVR works great, the software even has a built-in commercial skip function. I h...

Re: A list of 50 Inch Smart TV's that support HDHomerun would be great !!!!

Is DRM playback important? That would rule out the Fire TV Edition TVs. Sony, Sharp, Philips, Skyworth, and Hisense have TVs running Android TV that presumably should work. I haven't used most of them enough to give a recommendation other than it's probably best to avoid any Sony TVs pre-2019 or th...

Re: 6 tuner prime soon !!!

And this is a cable tuner we're talking about isn't it? So the ATSC specs don't mean much here. Yes, the Prime is not ATSC. However, I imagine many locals are the same feeds being broadcast ATSC, so I used that value for reference. (Also, I couldn't find any info about maximum bitrates for NA cable...

Re: 6 tuner prime soon !!!

It won't be a problem for Comcast users as all of their channels save for the locals are 4Mb/s or less. The locals, in most areas, are still up to about 16-18Mb/s though it's a rare channel that's that high anymore as the bandwidth is split off to sub-channels. And this is a cable tuner we're talkin...

Re: 6 tuner prime soon !!!

There's not much you can do as at the present time, SiliconDust doesn't even offer a CableCARD tuner for sale.

Re: 6 tuner prime soon !!!

My **** flatlined in July and I have been waiting around for this to be available, because I really do not want to buy another ****. But being almost Nov and no official word or potentional release date other than "mid 2018", which is long past, it's looking more and more like **** will, unfortunat...

Re: 6 tuner prime soon !!!

I don't think CableCARDs will ever be supported on these networks and **** would have to come out with a new box that handles IPTV delivery. What caught my eye was that you need to rent from Comcast every piece of equipment you'd need to utilize the service. It states Roku would work I am sure othe...

Re: how soon is soon?

Not soon enough … time is ticking … for us Prime users .. like I said before DRM Recording or Cable companies stop providing cable cards what will come first … sooner or later we will find out. Comcast has non-CableCARD areas already. https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/all-ip-xfinity-fiber-on...

Re: 6 tuner prime soon !!!

Given that CableCARD is a dying technology I wouldn't expect to see SD expend the resources and money to support two different CableCARD models. But you never know, maybe they'll surprise us. While I'm mildly interested in the 6 tuner device the longer it takes to materialize the less interested I b...

Yes, a modern AVR is a must or at least a soundbar that can handle modern audio formats.

Re: Apple TV app (tvOS)

Yes, Apple's audio output choices are a bit strange. But Atmos is coming in the iOS 12 firmware(Sept) and you can pass lossless audio(TrueHD and DTS-HD converted to PCM) now from your local LAN content with the Infuse app.

Re: Apple TV app (tvOS)

Yeah, I know, it's ridiculous that it's so hard to get one device even to just cover the major streaming providers. Even worse, when you get into all the individual channels and their own streaming sites it just gets completely out of hand. And then there's the political crap, the Amazon app on the ...

Re: Apple TV app (tvOS)

Yes, I hear that. I've purchased 2 Fire TV's and a couple of generic Android boxes and haven't been happy with any of them. Getting an Apple TV app would be fantastic, as long as it happens before I'm eligible for Medicare! If you're a baseball fan, the MLB.tv app is the best available, the streams ...
