Re: What's the difference between the Amazon issued HDHomeRun app and the Google Play version

The Android app was submitted to Google so that the DRM update is available to those who need it. We're still working on fixing a few final bugs to get the app where we want it, so it has not yet been submitted to Amazon. No need to push out DRM updates for a platform that doesn't do DRM. Once we'r...

What's the difference between the Amazon issued HDHomeRun app and the Google Play version

Which version is better to use on the 4K Fire Stick?
Side load the regular Android app (ver 20190206) or use the Amazon supplied app (ver 20180803)?

Re: Fire Stick 4k

I was able to view about 3 hours of recordings last night before it crashed and I had to reboot. On the plus side I just learned I can pair my bluetooth headphones to the 4K Fire Stick. Previously I was using the TaoTronics Bluetooth 5.0 Transmitter and Receiver https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07...

Re: Lon interview with SD ...Prime 6 looks a long way away ..

The hemming and hawing about “the guts aren’t available but we’ve made progress” doesn’t make much sense. Ted talks a good CEO line about shifting operational focus but the proof is in the pudding. Premium TV and DVR are where the ongoing revenue stream is. To think that any small company would foc...

Re: ces 2019

Well how the heck do you advertise a Prime 6 tuner at last years CES fail to deliver it and run out of Prime 3 that sure is some poor planning. Maybe it was poor planning (before my time). That still doesn't mean the Prime 6's release date has anything to do with these other products. What some tec...

Re: ces 2019

.... Instead, they choose to tell us absolutely nothing for over 6 months, but then feel compelled to finally explain the Prime 3 discontinuation while responding to some hot head on Twitter. You'd think that SD would value a user community that cares about their products so much as to visit the fo...

Re: ces 2019

I like the open format we have here but it's disappointing that information about SiliconDust is found elsewhere when we are talking about that very topic here with employees. That being said I think you're doing a great job Nate.

Re: ces 2019

According to this they ran out of parts for the 3 tuner prime since many of the parts were EOL: https://twitter.com/HDHomeRun_US/status/1083152308106457088 Maybe I should follow them on twitter more info there. If any information like this is released on Twitter, Facebook or any other online source...

Re: intrest poll

I understand the need to make a branded "kit" available. It makes all the sense in the world to be able to provide a solution in one box or at least one brand. They are making efforts to appeal to customers beyond those that are "techie" or hobbyists if you will. To me that's also a good reason fas...

NAS opinion for DVR - WD PR4100 or QNAP TS-453Be-2G-US

I'm looking to upgrade my NAS that I'm using for the DVR. Currently I'm using a single disk WD My Cloud.

I'll be using the new NAS for the DVR, Plex and Emby.

Which NAS would be better? The WD PR4100 or a QNAP TS-453Be-2G-US.

Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving!

Re: HDHR-DVRUI - A PHP/Web Interface to your HDHR DVR Setup

Right now I have the DVR UI running on a Mycloud NAS.

If I were to run the UI on a raspberry pi what version of Linux would be best?

Alternatively what would the best way to run the UI on Windows machine?

Re: HDHR-DVRUI - A PHP/Web Interface to your HDHR DVR Setup

Can you run 2 versions at the same time on the same network? Ver .5.14 on a NAS and ver .6 on a Windows PC?
I'd like to try the new version without uninstalling the old version.

Re: Unofficial Kodi PVR Client for HDHomeRun DVR subscribers

2. Is it possible to process video after watching it? My current PVR I watch a recorded show in HD, then that night a script runs that compresses the video down using FFMPEG. It's a great option to save shows to watch again later if wanted, without taking so much disk space. I'm sure this isn't the...
