Re: Encryption

Their previous post mentioned Oklahoma City. In that market all of the participating signals come from the same general area, with only one or two blocks between the tower sites. KFOR (NBC) is on the same tower as the lighthouse KAUT and is the ATSC 1.0 host of 43.1 CW. Prior to the market's October...

Re: Outlaw Channel not Scanning

They were probably waiting for a new encoder to handle it as WIS is already doing 2 HD/3 SD.

The network itself launched on January 1st, but a handful of Gray stations delayed it to April.

Re: Channel 4.2 COZYTV guide for "Mom" is wrong

I've sent an E-Mail to COZYTV, getting ignored there too. Mom isn't part of Cozi's official network schedule , you need to contact KNBC . KNBC picked up some of the syndicated rights that KDOC/56 used to have prior to being sold to TCT, but don't have room to clear it on their main channel so they ...

Re: Help understanding Rogue ATSC 3.0 Channel?

most low-power stations carry fast versions of streaming channels, this one in particular is tennis 2 subchanneled as 113.10 Broadcast stations that have channels like OAN Plus, Newsmax 2, AWE Plus, Real America's Voice, etc are actually carrying the audio and video feeds on their signal, their FAS...

Re: Help understanding Rogue ATSC 3.0 Channel?

T2 is their free streaming channel that's carried by a bunch of FAST providers. It isn't the same Tennis Channel that people with cable and satellite get.

Re: TV Station Launches Multiple 4K Broadcasts OTA on ATSC 1.0

You would benefit from watching the entire video, or even the full 20-minute interview (https://youtu.be/oQdonemI5Ls?feature=shared). Many of your points are incorrect on the finer details (framerates used, TV compatibility in 2024, etc), but I'm not going to pick them apart. This wouldn't be the f...

The Sinclair stations that have T2 are using internet delivery which isn't yet supported by the HDHomeRun

Re: TV Station Launches Multiple 4K Broadcasts OTA on ATSC 1.0

That LPTV station in Eugene Oregon has been doing it since at least 2021. The only way they can do it is with 24 fps and/or slow moving content that can be compressed to less than 5 Mbps, which they can't do for actual network 4K sports broadcasts with a lot of rapid motion and camera panning. i.e. ...

Re: The HDFX-4K, a different perspective and why it is a good purchase..

Your DMA has a lot of translators that are cluttering the results on the Channel Master maps, try using the RabbitEars search instead. Make sure you search for your specific location, as zip code only searches usually resolve to either the center of the zip code or the location of the post office, a...

Re: Incorrect guide data for CW

Even though it's labeled "WJAC2", CW for the Johnstown-Altoona DMA is actually on WJAC's .4 channel: WJACDT4 (98160) For the SD feed on channel 15, Gracenote has a seperate entry you can use: WJAC4SD (112315) While OTA stations in smaller markets like Johnstown use the CW Plus feed, many o...

50.x in Macon is WPGA-LD (Not to be confused with WPGA-TV on 58.x) Gracenote does have an entry for 50.1 WPGALD (152301) with the correct listings that was created in early January. But I'm not sure if it's mapped to any zip codes yet. Unfortunately Gray has been horrible at keeping Gracenote up to ...

Re: HDHomeRun App on Roku vs Firestick

The HDHomeRun supports a lot more than just network connected media players. Roku's market share for phones, tablets, game consoles, laptops and desktops is 0%. Most of those other platforms along with AndroidTV/FireTV can use the common UI, while Roku requires them to have a seperately coded UI. Th...

Re: Encryption

Recently, KPTV enabled DRM and they offer no alternative. KPTV's main ATSC 1.0 signal is still on VHF 12 , where they have been since the 2009 DTV transition. Like many other VHF stations across the country did once the repack filing freeze was lifted, they petitioned for and were granted a constru...
