Not to mention notch filters aren't perfect, something blocking out San Antonio's KNIC-DT on RF 18 will likely affect Austin's KGBS-CD on RF 19.
A potential solution would be for them to start taking the TSID into account as that value is supposed to be unique. Like when the background scan gets a ...

Re: cbs trouble
None of the NYC area bandscans show any simultaneous changes with WCBS's signal like you would see if they switched to one of the backup transmission sites. WCBS is on RF 36, so it might be 5G interference. It could also be atmospheric boost causing Atlantic City's WMGM or Hartford's WFSB to ...

Here in the Tampa market, major broadcasters are transmitting only encrypted ATSC 3.0 signals — and have removed their ATSC 1.0 counterparts entirely.
You might want to resubmit that as that ...

Re: Would a Flex 4k work in Europe?
No, the Flex 4K is ATSC/QAM only and Europe uses DVB.
If unencrypted 4K broadcasts are available terrestrially (DVB-T/T2) or on cable (DVB-C) in your country, you can get them with the DVB Flex model HDFX-4DT and if you don't need the USB hard drive option, you can use the DVB models of the Connect ...

Fox and ABC removed DRM in Miami. Step in the right direction.
That's only because WPLG's RF 10 signal is switching back to ATSC 1.0 on 7/28 , as their ATSC 1.0 host WSVN can't continue to carry WPLG's 1 HD and 2 SD channels on their RF 9 signal when 7.2 goes HD for the new ABC Miami and 365BLK ...

Re: Missing AC-4 stream
VLC relies on FFmpeg which doesn't support AC-4, so it just ignores the AC-4 audio stream as unknown binary data

Re: Encryption
Even though AVC/H264 was added as an optional part of the specs in 2008, manufacturers were still pumping out tuners and TVs that are coded to only recognize streamType 0x02 (MPEG-2) for ATSC 1.0. Most notably the pre-Scripps models of a certain popular DVR. Over at the AVS forum there are a bunch ...

However owners of your 4K tuners are unable to record any programming in 4K or even view programing.
No progress appears to being made to change this, so why bother selling 4K capable SD hardware?
Even if the A3SA approved DRM decoding today, no one is using ATSC 3.0 to broadcast in 4K.
Not all ...

It's not just converter boxes from the transition era. All of the previous models of one of your competitors network tuners don't support H264, even though their first model came out in the mid-2010s well after H264 was added as an optional part of ATSC 1.0. (It's the one that has since been ...
