Here's the method I use with my HDHomeRun Prime:
Use Windows Explorer to navigate to the folder where the HDHR recordings are stored. You'll find the name of the program as a folder - open it and then see all the episodes that are stored. I highlight the top of the stack and then scroll to the ...

The logs don't indicate if Ethernet or WiFi. Most Fire TV devices are WiFi only so we assume WiFi.

I am not sure why the connection didn't establish within 2 seconds. The problem is specific to Fire TV so it must be something the Fire OS is doing.

I found the glitch you mentioned at 17:59:40.

There was a seek request. The player correctly closed the connection to the server, then attempted a new connection to the server to request a new playback position. This connection attempt timed out after 2 seconds.

There can be interruptions to WiFi ...

Mine does this sort of thing all the time, the longer the recorded program the more likely it is to do it.
1) If I try to hit FF say 6 times to skip a commercial in the evening news, it seems to always work OK.

The app release has been submitted to Roku for approval. It will likely be out Tuesday.

We are constantly making improvements to the user experience... if there is any specific part you find clunky or if you can describe how/where you roommates sometimes get lost I can do something about it...

The Apple TV app problem has been fixed and a new release has been submitted to Apple for review.

Workaround while waiting for the release to be approved - go to http://hdhomerun.local/lineup.html and disable any channels that have the DRM tag.
