Re: Live TV problems - stutters/freezes/timeout errors

The HDHomeRun is happy, however the client isn't keeping up.

Can you please turn on "send diagnostic information" in the Android app (press play/pause 13 times to open the menu).

Re: Timeout error - Challey57

Challey57 - I will test the recording you sent in the morning.

An interesting test would be to try a Windows 10 PC or a Mac - see if you experience the same issue or if it is specific to the FireTV.

Re: Timeout error - Challey57

getting this error too.

Nvidia shield. hardwired. 150 mb/s connection. Using live channels, picture stutters, pixelates, eventually freezes and "timeout error" is displayed.
Different hardware, unlikely to be related. We will help in the thread you created.

Re: Live TV problems - stutters/freezes/timeout errors

Hi,

Can you please turn on "send diagnostic information" again on the PRIME - it disables itself after a while and it looks like it turned itself off.

Re: 1.1.261 Unable to Play channel protocol error

Protocol error almost always means some third party security software is messing with communication.

BitDefender is known to do this.

Re: New Quatro vs old Connect channel tuning issue - PCTools

I appreciate seeing you help address the restart issue being discussed here. I started this thread to address an issue of VHF, channel 13, not tuning properly. I also submitted a ticket, 104959, but I have not had anyone respond to me since my October 8 response. I have sent emails to support and p...

Re: Local Feeds

Unfortunately no... local channels need to come via your antenna.

We may be able to help research antenna options suitable for you location - drop a quick email to support@silicondust.com and include your address.

Re: New Quatro vs old Connect channel tuning issue - PCTools

Hi, We are not tracking any issues where a HDHomeRun requires restarting. You should never need to power cycle. What specifically doesn't work when the problem occurs? If the device isn't detecting/responding... 1) What to the LEDs on the back show? 2) If you remove the ethernet cable do you get a f...

Re: Timeout Error

Hi,

It looks like a qwest issue (CenturyLink) . I will monitor throughout the day and enable alternative routing if problems continue.

Re: TBS feed - dsinema

I think I have resolved it, i think it was a firewall issue. I have a small Palo Alto Networks firewall, it does SSL decryption. And I didn’t realize that stream to HDHomeRun was ssl, the decryption was causing the overhead. I had to allow an exception for the hdhomerun.com and hdhomerun.tv domains...

We have been told the underlying issue upstream has been fixed. Qwest is back running through our primary CDN servers.

Re: Stutter on Live TV since latest firmware update - Jimmersd

Hi,

The HDHomeRun isn't involved with video playback but we will try to help if we can.

Do you experience the same stuttering problem on your WMC7 computer?

For the Ceton Echo stuttering you will need to contact Ceton tech support.

Re: Premium TV - Video Quality

Premium TV Bit data rates are 1700-1800 kbps which is OK, but higher data rates would provide a better picture during video motion. The video encoding is set to maintain constant quality (rate factor) with a limit of 4Mbps. There is no target bitrate - the encoder is free to sit at 4Mbps if it woul...
