The Mac can support recording from more than 4 tuners at once and delivering to more than 4 devices at once.
The downside is the Mac must be running 24/7.

It looks like the TV has more than one HEVC codec... I will test each one after 4pm when the broadcast is back (we lose CH27 each day due to construction)

This TCL has both an AC4 system codec and AC4-passthrough conversion.

In Unconfigured, Stereo, and 5.1 Surround configurations the HDHomeRun app uses the AC4 system codec (local decode) which works fine for me.
In Digital Passthrough the HDHomeRun app uses the AC4 passthrough conversion support ...

Can you please enable "send diagnostic information" from within the app itself on the TCL. I see logs from the device and HDHomeRun Setup but not from the TV.

I can see the AC4 information but not the device... can you please use the back button to exit the app, then launch again.

The device we have logs for has AC4 support in passthrough mode. ie it decodes AC4 locally when Speaker configuration is set to Digital Passthrough. When set to Stereo or 5.1 ...

I can check... what is the Device ID of your HDHomeRun?

It looks like when you installed on Mac you ticked the box to install HDHomeRun RECORD.

Yep - got my free replacement unit yesterday, plugged it in and everything is working as it should with all the channels I had before. Thanks! I'll ensure in the future I'm frugal with any power cycling just as a precaution.

Thanks for enabling "send diagnostic information" and running a channel scan. It looks like a hardware fault. Drop a quick email to support and they will help... it will need to be returned so we can repair or replace.
