Re: Lip Sync/Audio Off - RTR (specific to 3.1/5.1 in Phoenix)

Two separate issues...

We confirmed that the ONN 4K Pro (2026) has a bug in its built-in AC4 passthrough support. We configured the HDHomeRun app to not use the built-in AC4 passthrough support on this model, and instead to use the build-in AC4 system codec. Everything is now working.

Phoenix ...

Re: Missing Disable Live TV Slice Guide Option on 2nd Gen Apple TV 4k

20260817 is the latest version. If you have a guide button on the OSD bar on your 3rd gen Apple TV then it must be running an old version of the HDHomeRun app. The guide button was replaced by the "press back" approach some time ago (1 button press to get to the guide).

Live preview in the top ...

Re: Missing Disable Live TV Slice Guide Option on 2nd Gen Apple TV 4k

The Apple TV app should auto-update from the Apple app store. The current/latest release is 20260817 (you can see the version in the settings menu of the HDHomeRun app).

The UI and navigation within the UI has been significantly upgraded over the last 2 years. Guide is now a page in the top level ...

Re: Lip Sync/Audio Off - geriakt

I split your post off into a new thread so we can better help.

1) What specific player device are you using (exact model)?

2) I would like to test your 106.1 recording here... can you please upload to a service such as Google Drive and then PM me the share link.

Re: Lip Sync/Audio Off - RTR (specific to 3.1/5.1 in Phoenix)

So we can better track things, I am going to define this thread as being for channels 3.1 and 5.1 in Phoenix (as first reported by RTR).

Re: Lip Sync/Audio Off Since 20260710?

Update 2:

KPHO: I found a recording from KPHO and observed the problem. A timestamp analysis suggests a broadcast issue that the app is not handling well. We are communicating with the station to fix the root problem, and in parallel we will review how the app does error recovery in this situation ...

Re: Lip Sync/Audio Off Since 20260710?

Update... there are two separate things going on, neither of which related to our 20260710 release. The 20260710 release is not related to the problem.

1) KPHO/KTVK changed encoders / encoder configuration. We are investigating to see if it is a broadcast side or player side issue.

2) The new 2026 ...

Re: Switched Record Engine from Windows to Linux, no recordings

Most likely your Linux system is running a firewall that is blocking communication.

1) Explicitly set the port number in the conf file, for example:
Port=4999
(can be any port number you want).

2) Configure the firewall to allow incoming TCP connections on the port number you chose, and incoming ...

Re: Lip Sync/Audio Off Since 20260710?

There were no audio-video timing changes in the release for Windows.

The Android/Fire TV release changed to always use built-in "passthrough" style AC4 support, if present. We think this caused a issue on the new Onn Pro.

If the problem is specific to a channel we can investigate what the channel ...

Re: Lip Sync/Audio Off Since 20260710?

Are you seeing this issue specifically on the new Onn Pro device?

I suspect there is a bug in the Onn Pro AC4 handling. I am trying to get one.

Re: Encryption

so my understanding as to why the HDHomerun devices are NOT unencrypting the DRM signals is because PearlTV/ASCA is NOT approving them, claiming that there is a chip in the devices made outside of the US?
No, that claim was a made up story.

The HDHomeRun actually doesn't touch the encryption ...
