Re: List of Supported devices
AC4 is certainly not a royalty/patent cash grab. It’s twice as efficient as E-AC3 which was in itself more efficient than AC-3. One does not preclude the other. If you don't care about a compatibility layer for existing TVs and AVRs, as was done here, there existed at the time of the spec writing, ...

OT: This reminds me of the story of email that can't be sent more than 500 miles.

Re: List of Supported devices
So It just seems mind boggling as to why we still don’t have native support for AC4. Shooting from the hip, because nothing uses it (besides ATSC 3.0 broadcasts), and it was shoehorned in there as a sleazy royalty/patent cash grab. Lots of good choices out there, whether your focus is compatibility...

Re: List of Supported devices
You're right, this isn't easy to test. There are no OS-level AC-4 configuration options like my working AC-4 boxes. Attempting to watch an ATSC 3.0 broadcast in HDHomeRun fails with an audio error and doesn't fall back to cloud transcoding. From other reports I've seen, it sounds like there may be p...

Re: List of Supported devices
Yikes, ignore my comment above. Having now tested it, the Onn 4K Pro is a very poor device, in addition to lacking native AC-4 support (or is super buggy).

Re: Encryption
I was actually referring to the ATSC 3.0 ecosystem as a whole.
The only client change I would like to see is the return of elapsed time with remaining time.

Re: Encryption
So the bottom line for me is that my HDhomerun Flex is useless as a ATSC 3.0 tuner. Can't receive any Nexgen channels and still no APP for Samsung tv's All this discussion has led us nowhere. I will accept my purchase as a loss as there is not much I can do about it. But why does silicondust contin...

Re: List of Supported devices
The new Walmart Onn 4k Pro ($50) may have native AC-4 support. It's not officially for sale yet, but some have been picked up off shelves due to early (mistaken?) stocking.
I look forward to giving one a thorough workout when I can find one near me.

Re: T2 Tennis Channel
When architecting this capability, is there a plan to incorporate user oversight on internet delivered channels? For people with metered internet or security concerns, will there be a flag available for users to approve any additions or changes to the channel list that involve internet delivered ch...

Re: How to migrate DVR storage to a larger disk
Yes, but it's not well-documented on their info/wiki pages, and it requires some Linux know-how. I'm assuming a.) you meant moving from 0.5 TB (500 GB) to 2 TB and b.) you are using a USB drive plugged into your HDHomeRun. 1.) Unplug the current drive, plug in the new drive and ask the HDHomeRun to ...

Re: Upgrade to new device and maintain recording schedule
The schedule is not on a particular device, it’s in their cloud service and syncs with devices regularly. So as long as both devices are part of your account and at least one is online, you will get your recordings.

You could block (red X) the channels you don't want? That's what I do with the Spanish and infomercial channels.

Re: Encryption
You may want to watch the Anntenna Man's latest video. In addition to being able watch ATSC 3.0 DRM, I think he is able to record it thanks to a recent update. Not looking to move to Za$$erbox, just hoping something from SD will provide some sort of update on their progress ??? No one is disputing ...
