In addition to the reasons already mentioned, the ATSC 3.0 lighthouses frequently broadcast at much lower power than the main 1.0 stations, even when they are in an optimal location. The exact numbers will vary by market.

I was just able to reproduce it at 2:08 PM CDT with a recording Austin City Limits. I generally don't watch TV live, but maybe I can run up some live buffer later.

An auto-delete mode for "keep X episodes" is currently being worked on, and a bulk deletion option of some kind is also planned.

Can this future feature be configured as "keep X latest recordings", where older recordings will be deleted as new ones are recorded? If so, that would be great.

I think the days of DVR transcoding are behind us. Storage is cheap (even in the days of AI).

Sometimes there simply isn't enough consistent bandwidth at all the hops along the way. Have you considered adding transcoding into the mix for remote viewing? You didn't mention what software you're actually using. I stick with the HDHomeRun tooling, but I hear Plex is good for this sort of thing.
