Re: HDHomeRun 4K is Nextgen TV Certified
Just google it.
Samsung stopped putting 3.0 in their OLEDs a year or so ago. I think they still offer it in the QLED line.

That is nothing like "won't support DRM". I have yet to see a manufacturer publicly say anything about ATSC 3.0 DRM.
Those ...

Re: HDHomeRun 4K is Nextgen TV Certified
Wow! Lon is simply amazing! Great video! If only the powers that be in the government would view it and make a commonsense decision to end this DRM farce!
I believe several tv manufacturers have already said that they won't support DRM.
I don't know of any *TV* manufacturers that have said ...

Re: Encryption
for another example of the failures of atsc3.0 drm check out this thread ...
It shows how atsc 3.0 drm is able to be bypassed using a3sa approved converter boxes.
I think it's well known at this point that existing converter boxes are not enforcing HDCP. Supposedly that requirement will be ...

Probably expected, "X" also appears to be missing on recorded shows on macOS. Same 0213a version.

Shooting from the hip, could it be HDR video on a device that isn't (or can't) displaying HDR?

I believe you are receiving 1080p/faux HDR/faux Atmos.tresf wrote: Mon Feb 09, 2026 12:05 pm I happen to be lucky enough to live in a 4K broadcast area without encryption. From what I can tell, it's upscaled. I'm not sure how to get the other details but happy to.

Re: New HDHomerun 4K firmware; who dis .local?!?
.local does not use your DNS provider, it uses mDNS/zeroconf and is link-local only.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.local
It seems likely you have a connectivity problem between your HDHomeRun and other devices.

Re: Fast Forwarding Issue
I've had that happen when the bandwidth drops too low and the app thinks the stream has ended. Do you have wifi in the mix?
I've also seen it with a poor combination of gigabit ethernet + USB 2.0 on the player device, but that's probably more rare.

My guess is it is being done on purpose, so you will be forced to use their paid app.
