Re: Encryption
It would be a nice step, but iOS devices, Macs, and Windows would still be left out in the cold, though.

Re: Fast Forwarding Issue
I've had that happen when the bandwidth drops too low and the app thinks the stream has ended. Do you have wifi in the mix?
I've also seen it with a poor combination of gigabit ethernet + USB 2.0 on the player device, but that's probably more rare.

My guess is it is being done on purpose, so you will be forced to use their paid app.

I didn't have any issues, are you on early access or standard access?

Re: Overwriting old recordings
Common usage of this feature is for a recording from 12/2025 to overwrite a show from 6/2024, regardless of what the show is or the format.

Re: Silicondust is now an ATSC3 Certificate Authority
Does anybody else find it hilarious that apparently the broadcast industry, after blasting SiliconDust with the chip nonsense, is now admitting through their actions that SiliconDust is the best possible group to figure out the certification process? I freely admit I don't understand DRM OR ...

Re: Choppy video on MacOS Tahoe
Did the new update for Tahoe make the app really laggy when skipping on non-Tahoe releases? I'm still on Sequoia and when skipping (+30s or +10m) the audio starts immediately, but I'm waiting a full one-mississippi for the video to sync up and start playing. I don't have the previous app store ...

Re: New guide-centric UI approach
A small tweak: It would be nice if the Guide view supported the PageUp/Down buttons moving through the guide a page at a time. On the macOS app (App Store), it appears PageUp/Down work exactly the same as Up/Down.

Re: Encryption
The actual engineers involved at the A3SA are actually nice people and fully understand this. There's literally an A3SA approved app that decrypts ATSC 3.0 DRM from HDHomeRun hardware already. It's just only approved for TV stations for commercial use, for whatever platform they use for viewing ...

Re: HDHomeRun 4K is Nextgen TV Certified
Question, what if the station lets the security certificate expire? It happens, especially with all the consolidation happening things get lost or ignored. Because it's certified, wouldn't the HDHomeRun be obligated to at least generate a nag screen?
Do channels that do not use DRM employ ...

Re: HDHomeRun 4K is Nextgen TV Certified
So then I guess if the HDHomerun Flex 4K/HD Homerun app doesn’t receive DRM capabilities from A3SA and high noon was to go into effect, all ATSC 3.0 stations, regardless of whether they use DRM encryption or not, would become unwatchable for us?
No. Channels that are not DRM encrypted will ...
