Re: List of ATSC 3.0 stations?
Seattle, checking in. 4.1 KOMO 5.1 KING 7.1 KIRO 13.1 KCPQ 16.1 KONG 22.1 KZJO All looking great in the HDHomerun app on Windows, although KIRO is broadcasting a vertically squashed picture at 1920x540. No audio for any of them in VLC. Actually, HDHomerun seems to have crashed while I was typing th...

Re: ATSC 3.0: Seattle / Tacoma - Dec 15th launch
That is good but strange that you aren't seeing squished video or having the audio issues, especially on the PC's. I saw squished when a tuner scan incorrectly marked a channel as HVEC that wasn't - i needed to do two scans to correct this, didn't see squished after that one time. (basically one sc...

Re: ATSC 3.0: Seattle / Tacoma - Dec 15th launch
Another data point for the Seattle area. 2020 Ipad - No sound from Hevc channels using HDHomerun app from Apple app store. I get sound for maybe 5 seconds, no picture and then nothing for all HVEC channels. this is the HD HR app in the iOS store with beta features turned on: Version (20201219 (UI) ...

Re: ATSC 3.0: Seattle / Tacoma - Dec 15th launch
On the HVEC channels i see some pauses in signal. Signal quality is ~ 93% (one time the hitch happened when signal quality was 100%) Signal strength and symbol quality are pegged at 100%. All the channels seem to do this, 16.1 is also getting macro blocking style compressions artefacts. Is this norm...

Re: ATSC 3.0: Seattle / Tacoma - Dec 15th launch
I initiated scanned the two channels I think were detects as they now say hvec hd next to them.
When I use the iPad app I get sound but no picture.
Tuner status says it is atsc3

Re: Improved networking
Thanks Ned, that prompted me to go look at the servio - that only has 100mb port too - that seems to be an issue if i think about 4k streams - imagine recording 4 streams and serving 4+ devices with different pre-recorded 4k content in the house. Heck 100 Mbps isn't enough for 4 in 4 out on ATSC1. ...

Re: HDHomeRun QUATRO 4K for ATSC 3.0
Just got mine this afternoon and set it up. Quick and simple. I updated the firmware and I already had the tvOS HDHomeRun app installed and I downloaded the the beta macOS app. But what app am I supposed to use for iOS? As the beta saying it's not taking anymore testers and the iOS HDHomeRun app, i...

Re: Improved networking
Realistically, that would only matter if we put more tuners in a unit. We haven't been able to find an example in-the-wild where all four tuners being used at once would max out the 100 meg interface. what if multiple users were accessing the 4 tuners? just asking from an academic perspective - for...

Re: List of ATSC 3.0 stations?
For those of you in seattle, I have reached out to all the major stations, so far only reply I got was from Komo and they said The target launch date is December 8th at 10am PST. hehe didn't realize you hung out here too, thanks for doing that! i guess once we have channels maybe we should have a s...

Re: unofficial Docker Container for Record Engine
Nice work. Given your container doesn't run with the privileged flag it really doesn't matter if it runs 'root' as it doesn't have privileged access. It only has access to the bind mounts (-v) nothing else. Either way no harm running with custom PID/GID inside the container - however note the same P...

Re: HDHomeRun QUATRO 4K for ATSC 3.0
Apple TV, and getting an official HDHomeRun app of some kind (for all of our products, both ATSC 1.0 and ATSC 3.0) is still a priority for us. Be careful with the word priority, some think that means get it done asap. whereas some think it means something we would really like to do. I discovered th...
