That is a set to box, (STB), not a Gateway device, as are HDHR tuners. Different requirements/certification needed they stated in past posts.

Re: HDHomeRun 4K is Nextgen TV Certified
A3SA. In 7 months their test provisioning server is still unable to generate a certificate that their own test licensing servers will accept. We can't do anything more until this works - our apps can't connect because the certificates their server provides don't work. That says about all anyone nee...

,,,In an ideal world, the FCC would be involved by now to make sure this technology was being deployed in the public interest. Unfortunately, they have long been toothless in making anything move forward... Um, we do still have an FCC, don't we? I am just kidding, of course, but they have been a &q...

"remote viewing" i find that term ambiguous. I can "remote" view my home media server, even HDHR, via Plex, or Emby, or Channels DVR, without using their actual remote options. Via self hosted VPN. The server software thinks i am on my local network, as I am, local IP. Have to w...

Re: HDHomeRun 4K is Nextgen TV Certified
Is the decoding done on the tuner device, or is it done in the client software app? or both? The actual DRM decryption is done by the player device (OS/hardware level protection, not decrypted the app). There are other aspects of the security the HDHomeRun and app are required to be involved in suc...

Re: HDHomeRun 4K is Nextgen TV Certified
I fail to see how your devices are "Nextgen TV Certified" when they actually do not work at all for ATSC 3.0 since those stations are all DRM/Encrypted in most markets. The HDHomeRun is Nextgen TV logo'd. DRM support is optional in ATSC 3.0. Meanwhile, i see some other tuner boxes that al...
