Re: View for Linux?

Yes, I agree, it's very nice of them to provide any options for Linux users at all. Most companies don't support anything outside of Windows. It must be a huge headache for them. I've been recording using FreeBSD 12.0-RELEASE for a year now myself, and I've been very happy with it. I was super surp...

Re: View for Linux?

There is not a native app for Linux; support for Linux is through the Kodi add-on. I see. Well then....please consider editing your website and product pages to make that more clear and remove the Linux Penguin logo from your parts showing and linking to the native app. As it stands, it advertises ...

Re: View for Linux?

Especially since this is a paid, for profit, software and devices. That could be debated. The software is free. Anyone can download and install it. What you 'pay for' is the DVR service and TV Guide data. Anyone can downloaded it, but not anyone can use it. ...you have to pay for the SD hard...

Re: View for Linux?

Hi, The HDHomeRun was originally designed to work with MyhtTV on Linux. Windows support came later. We fully support Linux using MythTV as the DVR, using the HDHomeRun DVR backend for Linux, and using the Kodi front end for the HDHomeRun DVR on Linux. Nick ok....so...why so complicated with multipl...

Re: View for Linux?

Kodi is a cross-platform media application available for many different platforms, including Linux. Kodi allows for the installation of additional "add-ons" that extend the built-in functionality of the base software. One such add-on is created by SiliconDust, and is essentially a cross-platform ve...

Re: View for Linux?

For first-party support, your only option is their Kodi plugin which runs on Linux. For third-party support, most any media player that accepts HTTP or RTP MPEG2 TS streams will work. (I regularly use mpv and vlc without issue.) For DVR software running on Linux, I have successfully used MythTV, Tv...
