Re: When the Prime 6 comes out, how many are you planning on getting

At this point the only real reason to have a new Prime 6 tuner is for those that want to DVR shows either via the HDHome Run app or Plex Pass DVR. Things are changing now if all you want to do is stream live tv but not record, many options. [removed by moderator - see forum rules] Streaming is over...

Re: HDHomeRun Duo & Quatro: Internal Preamps?

Do u know of a good up to date site where one can put in their address and get the full correct specs of all the OTA channels and their frequencies? RabbitEars keeps as up-to-date as possible. On the main page, select "Signal Search Map" which gives a map of the US and lets you zoom in and move a p...

I would install the LTE filter right in front of the HDHR tuner. My thinking being that way it'll also filter-out anything that may arrive via the coax, itself--though that would probably be very little, if any.
My thoughts exactly :ugeek:

Re: HDHomeRun Duo & Quatro: Internal Preamps?

I just order that CM LTE filter on Amazon for $20....was free ship and i had $20 gift card anyways....

Ill give it a try.
Does this need to go closest to the antenna? or would right at the HDHR input be fine?
The coax run is only about ~20 feet or so.

Re: HDHomeRun Duo & Quatro: Internal Preamps?

Does it specifically indicate that it blocks the 700MHz band? Because most don't. They build one model and send it out to the whole world. The problem with this is that most of the rest of the world is way behind the US when it comes to clearing space for mobile service. The US cleared the 800MHz b...

Re: HDHomeRun Duo & Quatro: Internal Preamps?

You would use both the LTE filter and the amp. The issues you see with overload aren't necessarily because the TV signals are too strong, but more likely because the combination of TV+FM radio+LTE signals is too strong. If you eliminate the LTE signals, that lowers the combined amount of power goin...

Re: HDHomeRun Duo & Quatro: Internal Preamps?

LTE filter is perfect for you. Trusting incorrect websites is your problem. K33LN-D operates on channel 33, which is 587MHz. 800MHz would be the bottom of channel 69, and that's all been LTE for years now. That station hasn't been on channel 69 in like 20 years anyway, with a stint on 14 starting i...

Re: HDHomeRun Duo & Quatro: Internal Preamps?

The amp is different in each model because of different needs. You've also got splitter loss to figure in, so the net gain at the tuner ends up being very little. speedingcheetah, if you don't already have one, you might want to add a 700MHz LTE filter like the one Channelmaster makes. Overload hap...

Re: HDHomeRun Duo & Quatro: Internal Preamps?

But, there does not seem to be a very low power low db OTA amp out there, or a programmable/SMART one, that i can say control via Bluetooth or wifi and set each db power setting for each channel frequency via an app on my phone. That latter point is why mast-mounted preamps are better than those mo...

Re: HDHomeRun Duo & Quatro: Internal Preamps?

What db is this internal pre-amp? I was using a OTA antenna with a amplifier for a while, but noticed some channels were pixelating and breaking up, despite having high signal stats of at or very near 100%. While other stations, that were lower, were fine. Some research here and there, and mention ...

Re: When the Prime 6 comes out, how many are you planning on getting

I am still planning on getting a Prime 6, but it depends on how things change between now and when it comes out. I have Nvidia Shield with apps to watch any content that I please. I also have a HDHomerun Prime that works perfectly. If Comcast comes out with Xfinity Stream on my Nvidia Shield, then ...

Re: When the Prime 6 comes out, how many are you planning on getting

I have been breathlessly awaiting the prime6 since it was first announced. Sadly, so much time has elapsed and conditions have changed that I finally kicked Comcast tv to the curb and went with all streaming. Therefore, the need for the new tuner is now mooted. I will box up my hdhr3-cc and store i...

I can look into that for you, but I don't see what it has to do with the post you quoted.
because the post that post was quoting contained the post i am referring to in the chain...someon posts "lol" to the whole thing.
