HDHR5-4US: maximum length of LAN cable?

I'd like to try a 100 foot run of CAT5E LAN cable from a HDHR5-4US to my router switch. Has anyone tried this length of CAT5e (or CAT6) cable and does it work okay? Any guidelines for what the maximum recommended length might be?

Re: Good signal strength - low quality (HDHR5-4US)

Not combinig the signals - instead each antenna has a unique HDHomeRun tuner (xxxx4-2US and xxxx5-4US). Repositioning the antenna has helped and NBC has been okay so far (though with signal quality for NBC on VHF hovering around mid-50s, I'm expecting weak signal problems in future: then I'll put th...

Re: Powerline adapter for HDHR5-4US?

Unfortunately my house electrical wiring doesn't work well with powerline adapters (tried two different brands, and seeing variable results between 2 and 60 Mbps measured using iPerf3, despite both adapters being AV2000 so capable of up to 1800Mbps). I'm trying WiFi media bridge instead with 120Mbps...

Re: Good signal strength - low quality (HDHR5-4US)

Both antennas pointing to San Bruno/Sutro (attic is blocked to the east). I made a small adjustment tonight - moving the roof Clearstream 2V antenna anti-clockwise by about 5ยบ, and NBC signal quality has improved - and is watchable. I'll see how this goes, and maybe try the Winegard on the roof late...

Re: Good signal strength - low quality (HDHR5-4US)

Hi Ch07 (KGO-ABC) is good: all green and stable. Ch65 (KKPX-ION) is okay: green/yellow Config_gui examples are here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/Si4NvKuudkVzrAkQA Post code is 94070 (San Carlos near the 280): 16 miles to San Bruno; 22 miles to SF Sutro Towers. Antenna is a Clearstream 2V mounted on a ...

Good signal strength - low quality (HDHR5-4US)

I just had a my antenna moved from attic to my roof. (due to poor VHF reception in the attic). When the installer left last week I had a clear picture on VHF channels ABC and NBC. Today the quality has dropped and I'm seeing pixellation and dropouts on NBC (Ch12). I can call the installer tomorrow t...

Powerline adapter for HDHR5-4US?

Looking at powerline adapters to connect the HDHR5-4US through home electrical wiring to my router: will AV500 be sufficient with 100Mbps ethernet in the HDHR5-4US, or must go for AV1000-AV2000? Or is a powerline adapter a bad idea altogether?

Re: WD MyCloud ex2 Ultra Record Engine Install Failure

I saw an install problem (using a Mac) . What worked for me was to install the prior version of HDHomeRun to my EX2 Ultra, then update to the latest version - which you are working with now.

Re: EyeTV dead for me

+1 I've been trying to continue using EyeTV but it's getting harder and harder (dropped HDHomeRun support, TV Guide subscription broken, occasional Mac OS panics during recording). I'm happy to now have a SiliconDust DVR install working and making recordings with its television guide. I'd like to of...
