Re: Protected channels on Windows 10 (DVD Player app not required)

Just to say thanks to Nick and the team for this progress - working perfectly on the first machine I've upgraded to Creators. This is an older machine I was using as htpc until two years ago, powered by an i5-680, and the app runs very smoothly on it on my DRM channels. Also relieved that it works w...

Re: Win 10 DRM Unable to play channel - but it did before BIOS update

If the BIOS upgrade triggered a TPM reset then uninstalling and reinstalling the HDHomeRun app should fix it.
Add that "tip" to the engineering notes now (protected channel requirements topic?), while it is remembered (and before this topic gets lost in the forum auto-expire)?

Re: FEATURE: Please add progress bar time info..

None of the open source DVRs mentioned can or ever will be allowed to deal with DRM, and if Silicondust went open source it wouldn't be allowed either so it won't be happening. For those of us with DRM Silicondust is likely the only solution we are going to get in the long run so we DO need to press...

Re: Xiaomi Mi Box - no sound on one channel

Just install the official Android TV remote app on your phone or tablet (iOS or Android) and use that instead of the physical remote: it has a play/pause button on it. That's how I accessed on my Xiaomi Mi Box.

Re: drm win10 requirements? - kevinc25

Thanks Nick, thanks all. Well I tried it again this morning and DRM channels are pretty problematic today. After waiting for around 30 seconds twice I have got a picture but the rest of the time they stay black screen or sometimes I get unable to play channel message. However, non-DRM channels also ...

Re: drm win10 requirements?

Nick, I think you missed my request from Feb 13 (see my own unanswered thread): I am running two Primes (HDHR3-CC 13100AF3 and 13175993 ) on Time Warner Cable. I have the DVR on a WD MyCloud NAS and am attempting to use the 02102017 Win 10 View app on a Kangaroo PC running Insider build 15031. I ha...

Re: 20170206 Release -NYPLAYER

Try different resolutions ..... just to see even 1280 x720 60PHZ or 1080i 60PHZ ... made sure it is 60PHZ for some reason sometimes it defaulted to 30PHZ
Thanks, interesting. No change though, so let's see if Silicondust notice something wrong with my setup.

Re: 20170206 Release -NYPLAYER

Can you give me more details on the setup of your Kangaroo? Mine used to run the View app ok provided I had high quality video processing switched off, but now I have Windows Insider build 15031 installed, the 20170210 View app and the MPEG-2 codec ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9n95q1zzpmh4 nee...

Re: workarounds

Passive cooling means heat sync, no fan, so as to not produce noise. Many of us trying to achieve as near to a silent htpc as possible use substantial metal fanless cases such as those manufactured by Streacom with heatpipe/heatsink solutions for the CPU. After going to that trouble the last thing ...

Define passive cooling? I believe GTS 450 and GTX 650ti support TrueHD and DTS-HD MA. Passive cooling means heat sync, no fan, so as to not produce noise. Re: Quick status update & AMD GPU dilemma - 20160127

So if AMD is a problem, does Silicondust yet know if the Windows 10 app will support DRM MPEG4 with Integrated Intel graphics? When I and others pushed them on the point recently, Intel were very firm that the DRM MPEG4 problem experienced with MCE and Intel is an MCE problem, not an Intel problem, ...
