I'm afraid if I complain they'll put DRM on everything, then end CableCARD support. Maybe it's best to let sleeping dogs lie.

Re: Servio
How is this possible, he has NOT subscribed to get the DVR function. You can schedule recordings without an active DVR account but nothing will record. The DVR subscription is authorized through the tuner. Since the tuner was purchased used it is possible the previous owner has a DVR subscription a...

Re: Super Bowl in 4K HDR
That's interesting. So you can actually tune, watch, record this channel via HDHR Prime cablecard? Do they mark it with a copy never flag? Does HDR actually work? When Xfinity carries "4k sports", it's NOT through a cablecard channel. We can only watch it through their 4k rented box, and ...

Re: Encryption
Cute, but I apparently wasn't clear. I was just suggesting an Android software player, no new hardware. Currently SiliconDust allows third parties to use their tuner, and I believe this drives much of their popularity. If SD is able to get a DRM certified solution, then I think it would be great if...

Re: DVR app and sleep mode
Just to clarify, the Prime tuner has a USB port but it won't work with a hard drive. It's only to be used with a tuning adapter if the cable company requires one.Phoenixfury wrote: ↑Wed Jan 03, 2024 3:39 am What HDHR product are you using? If it has a USB port, you can attach the hard drive directly.

Re: Tuner lock stuck
While definitely true (and nearly a requirement with Prime/encrypted cable and ATSC 3.0), you will lose the ability to use a single tuner for multiple sub-channels at a time. (Of course, many users may not make use streaming the full mux.) I do make use of the full mux on my Connect devices. On FiO...

Re: Tuner lock stuck
Thanks for the explanation Jason. Is there any way to manually clear a tuner lock without rebooting the device? The documentation on info.hdhomerun.com says you can set/clear a tuner lock with hdhomerun_config. I tried every variation of "hdhomerun_config 104BAD9E set /tuner1/lockkey <value>&qu...
