Re: Recording metadata - TPeterson

RecordStartTime and RecordEndTime should be different to StartTime and EndTime anyway due to padding. StartTime and EndTime is the TV guide... if you change the EndTime it will no longer match the TV guide and won't make sense. If you are editing the length of the file set RecordStartTime to StartT...

nickk wrote: Wed Apr 10, 2024 11:16 am Suggest not changing the EndTime as EndTime is the scheduled EndTime and not related to the length of the recording. In practice we only use StartTime in the UI.

Re: Recording metadata - TPeterson

And then I have the question of what about recordings that are edited, for example to remove commercials. Should the start and end times be adjusted for the time removed? When I edit recordings I change RecordStartTime to match StartTime, then I change both RecordEndTime and EndTime to StartTime pl...

Re: Subwoofer in OTA NTSC 1.0?

I get 5.1 audio from HDHomeRun tuners on ATSC 1.0 OTA if the program has it. Not sure about NTSC OTA. I thought that was phased out.

jasonl wrote: Thu Mar 14, 2024 5:20 pm I wonder if people started complaining about it if they would change those?
I'm afraid if I complain they'll put DRM on everything, then end CableCARD support. Maybe it's best to let sleeping dogs lie.

This is what it looks like on my Chromecast. Is it supposed to look like that?

Also, if you open the HDHomeRun app and go to Account Information it will tell you if the DVR account is active and the email address of the person who registered the account.

How is this possible, he has NOT subscribed to get the DVR function. You can schedule recordings without an active DVR account but nothing will record. The DVR subscription is authorized through the tuner. Since the tuner was purchased used it is possible the previous owner has a DVR subscription a...

Re: Super Bowl in 4K HDR

That's interesting. So you can actually tune, watch, record this channel via HDHR Prime cablecard? Do they mark it with a copy never flag? Does HDR actually work? When Xfinity carries "4k sports", it's NOT through a cablecard channel. We can only watch it through their 4k rented box, and ...

Re: Encryption

Cute, but I apparently wasn't clear. I was just suggesting an Android software player, no new hardware. Currently SiliconDust allows third parties to use their tuner, and I believe this drives much of their popularity. If SD is able to get a DRM certified solution, then I think it would be great if...
