Re: Just lost all but a handful of Chanels
Did they send you notices that they were changing your service and CableCARDs would no longer work and you had to switch to their hardware or their streaming service? If so, yes.
Yes, they sent out notices. I got 4 new cable boxes and a new router shipped to me that didn't ask for a few months ...

Re: Just lost all but a handful of Chanels
I'm still getting local channels on my Primes but none of the "cable" channels work. My HDHR4-2US Connect tuners are still getting locals on QAM as well. I think Fios finally killed our CableCARDs. Not happy about it but they have been warning us for a long time.

Two swipes from the edge of the screen toward the center gives me a popup with exit/cancel buttons.

Re: Encryption
Forcing an ATSC 3.0 deadline will require all TV sets to include an ATSC3.0 tuner. Once all TVs have this tuner then 95% of all OTA users will have a viable ATSC 3.0 solution and the small fraction of us who prefer a gateway device can be ignored. They don't want to fight SD, they want to bypass ...

Re: Encryption
nick - nobody uses bluesky. you locked the thread so that people can't reply and tell you how cringe that is.
IMHO all social media is cringe.

Re: Encryption
Dunno if the mods will get back to you. But I think they block all references to any product that is even remotely competitive to SiliconDust products. I'd guess that they just don't want SD forum content appearing when someone does a google search about another product. Nothing to do with piracy ...

Re: Encryption
Cute, but I apparently wasn't clear. I was just suggesting an Android software player, no new hardware. Currently SiliconDust allows third parties to use their tuner, and I believe this drives much of their popularity. If SD is able to get a DRM certified solution, then I think it would be great ...

Re: PSA: my.hdhomerun.com no longer used to detect HDHomeRun units
Try my.hdhomerun.com/discover. That should list your devices. The ones with a StorageID are DVRs.

Re: Unofficial HDHomeRun DVR repository for DEB based systems
I tried this out on Mint 18.2 today.
I created the directory /srv/HDHomeRun to use for the recording folder since that location was already mentioned in the hdhomerun.conf file. I just un-commented the RecordPath line after creating the directory. I set the HDHomeRun directory permissions to 777. I ...
