What appears to have happened is that the DVR app died and I restarted it as the admin user and not the root user. It looks like that user didn't have permission to create a new file under the live TV directory. Changing the permissions allowed it to run again.

Unable to play channel - Protocol Error

Another weekend, another problem trying to watch TV. I was watching live TV and recordings on Saturday with no issues. I haven't changed anything since then, but now when I try to watch TV, I'm getting "Unable to play channel - Protocol Error" - This is happening on NVidia shield and the Windows app...

Not sure if this was it, but after rescanning channels, I noticed that the storage ID in the new config file was different than the one in my old config. I updated it and restarted the service and seem to be back to being able to watch live TV and recordings.

Things are not quite as they seem. I hit my.hdhomerun.com and found that I was still running the older version of the DVR software. The SPK created a different folder HdHomerunDVR and that had a single recording that was going at the time that I upgraded. I uninstalled the spk and tried to pull down...

Lost all recordings with latest update

I just updated to the latest firmware and DVR software 20190417, unfortunately, none of my existing recordings is displaying in the Recorded tab.

Does anyone have any ideas on if/how this can be fixed? I'm using the HDHomerun app on Nvidia Shield TV and the backend/storage is on a synology NAS
