Re: Zoom vs Stretch/Wide in HDHR apps

Austin, TX Channels 14-2 (Bounce) and 14-3 (H&I) are both broadcast in 16:9 format, but it sends 4:3 aspect ratio, so the picture is distorted. I have argued with the KEYE-TV staff to no avail - they claim it is 4:3... I can watch it in normal format on my TV's by overriding the TV format to 16:9, ...

Re: Flex 4K

Even though the stations may be "live" with the broadcast signal, they may not be transmitting all the channels. Austin, TX was one of the first to "go live", but it was probably 6 months before all 4 of the channels came in consistently (CBS, CW, MyTV & NBC). Recently (within the last 30 days), the...

Re: Antenna question

There isn't a "single solution" that works for everyone. By a general rule of thumb, the larger the antenna, the more gain the antenna has (the ability to pick up weaker signals). Yagi style antennas (think of the antennas from the 1960s-1980s) are directional, and usually are more sensitive in natu...

Re: Roku Ultra 2020 - DVR playback is wrong aspect ratio for SD

There are a few SD stations in my area that were moved from one broadcaster to another for the ATSC 3.0 conversion. They put the channels on a 4:3 aspect ratio, and they should be 14:9, so when I record them with my Tablo DVRs or view them on the HDHomerun software, it is "pinched" like you are desc...

Re: Improving adding and editing record rules

Typically, when I record programs it is either one of two scenarios: 1) Current programs - "new" shows only (i.e. current Good Doctor on ABC, new episodes only) - padding 2 minutes before, 5 minutes after. 2) Old shows - I record all of them, unless there is a duplicate - for example, recording "Wil...
