AND WAHT ABOUT MAKING A PRIME X 12 WITH 12 TUNERS?
I do believe an M Card can only support up to 6 streams (tuners), so there'd be very little advantage to making a device capable of more than 6 streams. You'd still need an additional card for each multiple of 6.

Re: HDHomeRun Mesh WiFi Discovery Issues

This is only anecdotal, but I have some devices at work that use Rabbit boards from Digi. I have to disable spanning tree protocol on the switches they are connected to in order to get them to obtain an IP address via DHCP. I don't know the reason why, it just is. I imagine STP is an integral part o...

Re: Odd issue with DRM channel playback

You don't say for the new PC whether it's Media Center or the HDHR app that is showing this problem. Media Center development was stopped before support for DRM over DisplayPort was added as I understand. You may never be able to get that working properly.

Re: HDHomeRun QUATRO 4K for ATSC 3.0

Question about the August 2020 group of tuners. I missed the July 2020 batch and am seriously considering buying from the August batch. Do you need to sell all 3000 for that batch to be produced?

Your router may have your wireless configured as a Guest network or otherwise restrict wireless clients from communicating with wired clients.

My.hdhomerun.com will allow you to find the IP address of your tuner. Try and access the tuner's webpage via that IP address on your iPhone.

Re: Broadcast Radio Support

I asked about this a while ago. AM/FM is analog and SD has never built an analog tuner, so their interest in providing support for AM/FM was understandably super low. HD radio requires licensing fees to be paid and I sure don't blame them for not wanting to pay them. I built a network FM tuner using...

Re: Future Features

A user account interface similar to what Netflix uses would be nice. You could designate kids accounts that wouldn't see certain recordings. How you'd determine what the kids can/can't see, I don't know. Perhaps add the ability to select at record rule creation. Does the guide data contain ratings?

Re: DVR/APP doesn't work without Internet

Assuming you have a new-ish model tuner and a Windows PC, you can use the HDHomerun Setup program to start a stream from your tuner. Clicking on the hyperlink channel number in the list of channels starts this stream. I use VLC to view it. You can also do an HTTP download of your recordings (SCRIBE ...

Re: When the Prime 6 comes out, how many are you planning on getting

The Prime 6 only has 100 NIC I do not see how much stress that will put on any Gigabit Network Switch... A Quatro will probably stress the Network more. I'm thinking more about the processing power of the switch to manage one port being switched out to up to 6 other ports while not dropping packets...

Re: When the Prime 6 comes out, how many are you planning on getting

I think when the Prime 6 comes out, a lot of people are going to find out how good (or bad) their network hardware is capable of handling, as some would say, a full pipe. I personally chose a Cisco small business switch for my home network. It is well supported, very affordable, and feature packed. ...
