Re: Multicast Discovery not working

I'm going out on a limb here, but I suspect that line in the changelog means the record engine can detect multicast streams and join the multicast groups.

SCRIBE free space

I don't think I've ever clicked on the Account Information button under the gear icon until today. Happy to see the used/free space of my SCRIBE is displayed there.

Re: Another $30 Android TV box

Turn off the surround sound setting and you should be able to control the volume. That's the only way. You can't control volume if you also sending out DD audio from HDHR app. They were all grayed out, but I found the setting for auto/manual sound settings. Switched to manual and turned all the Dol...

Re: Another $30 Android TV box

I had to turn off CEC to get the device volume to work............ This did not work for me. I get a bubble popup saying the device is set to surround sound and to use the tv volume. I also get a window that says, in poor english, volume passthrough not work. Does it have trouble with certain MPEG2...

Re: Another $30 Android TV box

The remote volume buttons control the device's volume when not in the app.

Re: Another $30 Android TV box

I got mine today. The View app works. There is no volume icon in the app and the volume controls on the remote do not work in the app. I only had 5 or so minutes to test drive it. Edit: I'll add that I don't have anything 'extra' hooked up to this TV. It's just into the TV HDMI port using the TV spe...

Re: Static IP Address.

I refuse to have a need to run multiple DHCP servers that is plain dumb. To add to this, it's the Silicon Dust people who need to make a decision on this. They can either do it or not. Stop telling me how to run my network. I have a very specific use case and am not going to jump through a ton of h...

Re: Static IP Address.

I actually do have a static reservation in DHCP now. But the issue is that I live in storm country. I KNOW that I can and will lose power, in fact here recently with an ice storm people were without power for a week not far from me and I was without for most of a day. Keeping an AP and the tuner po...

Re: Static IP Address.

With all due respect: Nonsense. Just about every device on our home LAN/WLAN has an option to locally set a static IP address. Heck, even our iPhones and iPads have it, and Apple is pretty much the epitome of "consumer" tech. Then that places you in what Microsoft used to call a power user. Think o...

Re: Static IP Address.

Other than the TECH models, these are very firmly in the "consumer" category of technology. Wanting to set a static IP on your devices in your network places you outside of that consumer category. Can you imagine the support nightmare that would occur? These units, along with the app use UPnP broadc...

Re: Improving adding and editing record rules

I would love to have the ability to select the maximum number of episodes to keep on the DVR for a series recording rule. If the maximum number of episodes already exists on the DVR and a new recording is going to occur, delete the oldest episode. An extension to this would be to give the option to ...

Re: Quatro Scribe Live TV freezes

Do you have your DHCP leases set to expire at 30 minute intervals? Not sure that a DHCP expiration/renewal would cause this, but I'd look there first.

Look for a setting that might block UPnP or possibly client isolation.

Re: Install HD Homerun on NAS Vs Servio?

I've never had a NAS and was excitedly awaiting the SCRIBE since it was originally announced as the DUO +. That said, it is my understanding the record engine can be run on the NAS with no need for a PC at all.

Re: Install HD Homerun on NAS Vs Servio?

I'm not sure what firmware added it, but on the device webpage for recorded files, they are links. Clicking the link starts a download to my PC. It's a 100Mbps link, so it ain't quick. Putting recordings onto the SCRIBE is a whole other thing that isn't easy, but I don't think that's something you'd...
