Re: Is there a HDHomeRun version of msdri.dll for Prime Tuners?

Your assumption is wrong. BDA drivers are for tuning ATSC/clear QAM/DVB-T/DVB-C channels, where the application is responsible for maintaining tuning information for channels. CableCARD channels don't work that way; the HDHomeRun device (and tuning adapter, if present) are responsible for the tunin...

Re: Is there a HDHomeRun version of msdri.dll for Prime Tuners?

This is Win 7 but with Emby and the orphaned tuners show up in GraphStudioNext and are highlighted in the screen grab below.

Highlighted are Primes I no longer own. MSDRI Driver.

Re: Is there a HDHomeRun version of msdri.dll for Prime Tuners?

Okay. So I'm off base and really don't know what I'm talking about! LOL New question, I have two HDHomeRun Prime Tuners that I don't possess but are still showing up as indicated in my screen shot above. They are orphaned BDA source filter entries that are no longer connected. How can I get those fi...

Emby shouldn't be using either. I believe it currently uses HTTP tuning, which is the recommended method of accessing channels with HDHomeRun PRIME.
Let's assume for a minute that it did use the BDA Driver to access the tuner. Could they be swapped in the registry?

Re: Is there a HDHomeRun version of msdri.dll for Prime Tuners?

MSDRI is Microsoft's thing; we have no control over it. So since I'm using my Prime with Emby and DRM isn't supported there can I substitute HDHomeRun_BDA_x64.ax for msdri.dll with the Prime? I assume if this works it will have no ill effect on the Prime's use inside the AndroidTV App as that runs ...

Re: Is there a HDHomeRun version of msdri.dll for Prime Tuners?

Allowing arbitrary file uploads is a major security risk and one that has been exploited in the past on a variety of different forum systems, so we don't allow it. We recommend using an external image host such as Imgur. On Imgur, once an image has been uploaded, you can click the … at the top-righ...

Re: Is there a HDHomeRun version of msdri.dll for Prime Tuners?

You'll need an emby community login but WHY doesn't SiliconDust support file / image attachment yet? I've requested this several times!

Is there a HDHomeRun version of msdri.dll for Prime Tuners?

I have Prime and Quatro tuners. At one time I used WMC with the prime and the BDA Driver is registered as msdri.dll for the Prime but as HDHomeRun_bda_x64.ax for the Quatros. I'm in a private test program with Emby to create a better LiveTV experience and using GraphStudioNext it has been discovered...

Re: 6 tuner prime soon !!!

We really don't know what is going to happen. All I am saying is that the longer it takes for the Prime 6 to come out, the greater the possibility will be that we may not need it. If streaming is a zero cost option, and many of us already has smart TVs, Nvidia Shield, Amazon Fires, and so on, then ...

Re: Channels DVR + DRM

Quick update here on my DRM situation. I tried to contact Cox customer service to complain about CW and PBS being DRM, but it went nowhere. So last month, on Jun 24, I filed a complaint with the FCC: Cox is applying copy-once protection to several OTA broadcast station streams via their cable servi...

Re: Emby doesn't link wiith Quattro

I think I meet all the criteria you mentioned. I may have found a way around the problem. I created a m3u playlist using VLC and plugged that into a m3u tuner in Emby. Seems to load and work just fine. I was using another workaround by creating a 'dumb tuner' m3u8 from NPVR but that seemed to give ...

Re: Comskip with HDhomerun DVR

I use MCEBuddy with ComSkip and HandBrake invoked. I only mark commercials to create chapters easily skipped by Emby. I do this because too many times the last few seconds to minutes of my wife's shows were truncated and it is much easier to do this than to spend countless hours tweaking ComSkip Se...

Re: Comskip with HDhomerun DVR

No it won't! At any rate, I find my solution to be the most cost effective. It is quicker to skip commercials when they're marked and if the marker is misplaced none of the content is missing. A reasonable, low cost solution that works well for us. Yea, I got ad removal covered, as should most user...

Re: Comskip with HDhomerun DVR

Which was actually the point I was trying to make, that to do it right costs real money, so commercial companies offering such a capability need to either step up, or step away. And since most people want no commercials until they are expected to pay for the privilege, most companies should probabl...

Re: Comskip with HDhomerun DVR

I use ComSkip within MCEBuddy and have it set to mark the end of a commercial block as a chapter before invoking HandBrake to re-encode to h.264/mkv and then Emby sets them up as chapters. On my remote I click the "UP" directional arrow and a BIF screen grab shows up for each chapter. I then skip to...
