Re: Emby doesn't link wiith Quattro

I think I meet all the criteria you mentioned. I may have found a way around the problem. I created a m3u playlist using VLC and plugged that into a m3u tuner in Emby. Seems to load and work just fine. I was using another workaround by creating a 'dumb tuner' m3u8 from NPVR but that seemed to give ...

Re: Comskip with HDhomerun DVR

I use MCEBuddy with ComSkip and HandBrake invoked. I only mark commercials to create chapters easily skipped by Emby. I do this because too many times the last few seconds to minutes of my wife's shows were truncated and it is much easier to do this than to spend countless hours tweaking ComSkip Se...

Re: Comskip with HDhomerun DVR

No it won't! At any rate, I find my solution to be the most cost effective. It is quicker to skip commercials when they're marked and if the marker is misplaced none of the content is missing. A reasonable, low cost solution that works well for us. Yea, I got ad removal covered, as should most user...

Re: Comskip with HDhomerun DVR

Which was actually the point I was trying to make, that to do it right costs real money, so commercial companies offering such a capability need to either step up, or step away. And since most people want no commercials until they are expected to pay for the privilege, most companies should probabl...

Re: Comskip with HDhomerun DVR

I use ComSkip within MCEBuddy and have it set to mark the end of a commercial block as a chapter before invoking HandBrake to re-encode to h.264/mkv and then Emby sets them up as chapters. On my remote I click the "UP" directional arrow and a BIF screen grab shows up for each chapter. I then skip to...

Re: m3u?

All the URLs are in the same format (http://device.ip.address:5004/auto/v### where ### is the virtual channel number, so 5.1 or 82 or whatever), so as long as the device's IP remains the same and the channel number is one the HDHomeRun knows about, the list should remain usable. You can edit the m3...

Re: m3u?

The easiest way to generate an m3u list with all your channels is to go into VLC's playlist > Universal Plug'n'Play > double click the HDHomeRun DMS > double click Channels > right click on Channels and Add to playlist. Then go into Media > Save playlist to file. Whether that will work for your int...

Re: m3u?

Why the 2 threads... (responding here since there is a reply, perhaps you meant to edit quatro) Generally no such info is in the stream (which is what you asked). Though there may be some areas where some guide information is in the stream but generally not enough for such list as well as the neede...

Re: promo email

A lot of moderation here?

I'm hoping it is a replacement for PremiumTV!

Re: Cheapest option to broadcast live TV outside home

I'd highly recommend Emby as well with the Premiere Lifetime membership. Costs a few bucks but it well worth it. You get "free" guide data that is very good and has full graphic support and rich meta-data. You get access to all clients apps and have a license for 25+ devices (more devices if not us...

Re: UI Beta Release - Click for Instructions (and warnings)

Is this only in the app or is it f/w? Only want to test on one ShieldTV. I got the email BTW. Is the surprise a new PremiumTV service? DRM fully functional? We don't mind if you tell us. Changing the UI is a per-device thing. You can change it on one Shield and leave everything else on the old UI. ...

Re: ATSC 3.0 TV is Starting to Roll Out This Year in 40 Markets

San Luis Obispo/Santa Maria/Santa Barbara is all one big TV market along the central coast of California, but they're far enough apart and separated by enough terrain that no station can serve all of them. The CBS station is based in Santa Maria and their transmitter doesn't reach either SLO or SB ...
