Re: Channels DVR + DRM

47 CFR 76.1904 (a) Commercial audiovisual content delivered as unencrypted broadcast television shall not be encoded so as to prevent or limit copying thereof by covered products or, to constrain the resolution of the image when output from a covered product. Except the FCC allows them to encrypt b...

Re: Will Servio play nice wrt tuner locking and MythTV?

Hi, I believe tuner resource lock support was added to MythTV in 0.29 - MythTV and SERVIO will coexist allocating tuners between them. Nick Interim pooling/locking solution happened in core v30 (still uses the older API for tuner access) [I Don't think it was backported because that would be a sche...

Re: Still hung up on font size

Clearly, my preferences shouldn't drive the design, but I would advocate for a font size option in the UI. Options (font sizes included) are nice, but one should also recognize that there are various FCC and ADA suggested/mandated "defaults" to not avoid certain compliance issues (there is a big pu...

Re: No tuners found in hdhr setup

try a different power supply (5V, 2.5A, amps can be rated higher). That would have been one of the first things I would try(*). Note, for testing purposes (only) 5V 2A is sufficient. If by "storm" the OP means lightning, or other power surges, the (induced) surge voltages may have damaged any numbe...

I would expect there will likely be a number of uncommon edge cases which will surprise at least some of the people some of the time. Software is never finished, it just escapes out to the beta channel.

Re: HDHomeRun SCRIBE & SERVIO is there a method to transfer video off the device to longterm storage? Also Guide Questio

add my plus 1 to the crowd that would very much appreciate a way to move my WMC recordings onto the Scribe. Moving the non-copy protected recordings themselves is certainly possible. The challenge is the metadata extract and then import in the HDHR DVR system. There are some 3rd party tools that ca...

Re: Servio and Scribe

Random questions (perhaps for the revised info site?) * Does the servio/scribe mount the xfs filesystem with an allocsize for (primarily) video files? While the results can vary dramatically based on device memory, and access patterns, I have found that the dynamic allocator is not always optimal fo...

Currently no way of moving anything to the device...
Well, if you are willing to void the warrantee on a perfectly new device (which is usually a very bad idea), it was stated to be just another XFS file system..... Just saying....

Re: View for Linux?

What is the URL for obtaining the lineup (does it show what is currently playing like the app?) Channel lineup for a tuner is available based on the response to the http://tuner-ip/discover.json request (the element is LineupURL), but always seems to be http://tuner-ip/lineup.json . Guide data is o...

Re: Servio and Scribe

The only thing I'm disappoint in is can't be a true cord cutter device because it can't pull PSIP data (EPG data) Realistically, at least in the US, PSIP data is just not sufficient for proper DVR operations due to its extremely limited time frame (9-12 hours are required, with most broadcasters st...

Re: Servio and Scribe

There is no such thing as video drives Well, you can argue that with Seagate, with their ST1000LV000 and ST2000LV000 drives (under the SkyHawk label) which are sold as video surveillance drives. And WD has their AV-25 drives (renamed to WD AV 2.5 inch) for up to 1TB. Last I looked most of the 2.5" ...

Re: HDHomerun Extend firmware lost channels

I've had the transition phase assignment open in a spreadsheet since November, and I refer to it at least once every day. Looking forward to 2020 when I can reclaim that taskbar space. You'll (eventually?) need another spreadsheet regarding the stations combining transmitters for the ATSC 3.0 trans...

Re: DVR Detection

Once the Servio is installed will HDHomeRun just know to find it for recordings? Well, it is sort of the opposite, the servio will discover the tuners to obtain (and record) the content. But yes, auto-discovery *should* just work (of course there are all sorts of special cases that may require some...

Re: HDHomeRun OTA Live for Roku

This is beginning to bother me because I'm not sure how Windows 7 and Windows Media Center are going to function this coming year when Microsoft support ends. You could update to W8.1 (which still has some support left in it). This particular computer is solely dedicated to being a DVR, so the lack...

Re: Mac client not displaying content

Are you using the new (beta) UI? There are some reports that some (but not all) Mac's end up on a black screen. Turn off the new UI features to see if that restores your content.
