Re: View for Linux?

What is the URL for obtaining the lineup (does it show what is currently playing like the app?) Channel lineup for a tuner is available based on the response to the http://tuner-ip/discover.json request (the element is LineupURL), but always seems to be http://tuner-ip/lineup.json . Guide data is o...

Re: Servio and Scribe

The only thing I'm disappoint in is can't be a true cord cutter device because it can't pull PSIP data (EPG data) Realistically, at least in the US, PSIP data is just not sufficient for proper DVR operations due to its extremely limited time frame (9-12 hours are required, with most broadcasters st...

Re: Servio and Scribe

There is no such thing as video drives Well, you can argue that with Seagate, with their ST1000LV000 and ST2000LV000 drives (under the SkyHawk label) which are sold as video surveillance drives. And WD has their AV-25 drives (renamed to WD AV 2.5 inch) for up to 1TB. Last I looked most of the 2.5" ...

Re: HDHomerun Extend firmware lost channels

I've had the transition phase assignment open in a spreadsheet since November, and I refer to it at least once every day. Looking forward to 2020 when I can reclaim that taskbar space. You'll (eventually?) need another spreadsheet regarding the stations combining transmitters for the ATSC 3.0 trans...

Re: DVR Detection

Once the Servio is installed will HDHomeRun just know to find it for recordings? Well, it is sort of the opposite, the servio will discover the tuners to obtain (and record) the content. But yes, auto-discovery *should* just work (of course there are all sorts of special cases that may require some...

Re: HDHomeRun OTA Live for Roku

This is beginning to bother me because I'm not sure how Windows 7 and Windows Media Center are going to function this coming year when Microsoft support ends. You could update to W8.1 (which still has some support left in it). This particular computer is solely dedicated to being a DVR, so the lack...

Re: Mac client not displaying content

Are you using the new (beta) UI? There are some reports that some (but not all) Mac's end up on a black screen. Turn off the new UI features to see if that restores your content.

Re: HDHomeRun OTA Live for Roku

Help me understand this a little better. If the TV plays audio fine when an antenna is directly hooked up, why would it not work through the HDHomerun app? Is there something about the audio signal that I'm not understanding? For reasons that only the TV manufacturer can explain, there are some TV'...

Re: HDHomeRun OTA Live for Roku

We are evaluating better NAS package support. Improvements would be welcome. For those NAS vendors that offer an app store, there is a well understood path forward(*)(**). For those NAS devices that replace their root file system at upgrades, and/or use something like overlayfs with a tmp filesyste...

Re: DVR Who is watching option?

Not at this time. The feature has been mentioned as a wish list item by others. The work might eventually be resourced, but there are currently bigger fish to grill. There are certainly some potential challenges (both technical and privacy related) providing such a function, with some potentially di...

Any idea what the Quattro box would do if it finds an unknown UK TV channel ?
As stated, the HDHomeRun devices only tune/lock to digital signals. Analogue (NTSC or PAL) may show up in an RF power sweep, but will not lock/tune.

Re: Can Quattro pick up my cctv camera

Unlikely. Most of the (more common consumer) CCTV's output RF NTSC, which the HDHomeRun digital tuners cannot access in any way.

Does SD use Schedules Direct? That's what I use with WMC. If they do, why doesn't SD provide the full 3 week schedule? First, (as rpcameron says), it is Gracenote. But while there are some exceptions, Gracenote has mostly cut back a bit (it is now more like 2.5 weeks than the 3 one sometimes got, a...

Re: File Size Mystery

I have noticed something I am not understanding with my recordings related to file sizes. Do both episodes have the same amount of action/movement? With variable bitrate, talking heads takes a lot less bytes to represent than fast action (well, if one is targeting equal quality). In a vary unscient...

Re: HDHomerun Extend firmware lost channels

Austin has several stations changing frequencies for the television spectrum repack at the end of next week. I know it is not possible to track all the various ongoing repack schedules and activities in detail across the country(*), but another FAQ pointing out the issues, and perhaps a reference t...
