Re: Wrong EPG for WMC7 using Spectrum in Los Angeles

Are you in Los Angeles? It is very strange. Yes, I am. Though I'm in a former Adelphia area... so maybe your area was a former something else and thus different? Because for me CNN is 46 and has been for as long as I can remember. So clearly our lineups don't match. Did your area get the "national ...

Re: Wrong EPG for WMC7 using Spectrum in Los Angeles

Uh... I have not heard of Spectrum moving channels around. I'm still using the same old TWC lineup in WMC and it matches to the lineup reported by my CableCard (well except the Premier League Extra Time channels which they didn't have correct before Charter took over either and still haven't managed...

For something lighter-weight than Emby, you might want want to check out Wallop which is a small ruby app that uses ffmpeg to transcode.

Re: Connecting PRIME to NON-digital TV

This really depends on what type of inputs the TV has... If it has composite, there are a couple options. 1. Use an Xbox 360 as a WMC extender (mine came with an AV to composite and RCA audio cable, if yours didn't, you can probably pick one up at a gamestop or on amazon for a few bucks) 2. If most ...

Re: New Prime Update?

Unless I missed something, SiliconDust has not announced that there is going to be a new Prime, there are only rumors of a new device. And SD does not comment on that sort of thing.

Re: Way to perform batch operations on channel line up?

You could write a script to do it. Which scripting language you use depends on your OS. But you'd just get the lineup from the tuner (http://<device's ip adress>/lineup.json), go through all the results to see if the HD tag is set, and if not, send a request to http://<device's ip address>/lineup.po...

Yeah, I'm not sure why this is even news. The only new thing about it is that they are considering charging a per Roku (rather than an outlet) fee... :o

Re: Quick status update & AMD GPU dilemma - 20160127

The approvals and certificates for handling protected content came through. The first platform to support protected channels (Live TV) will be the XBox One. Android TV platforms won't be far behind.
So I guess I'll still be running WMC/Win7 for some time to come...

Re: HDHR Live (Green app) Shield problem after upgrade

I wonder if / when they might be able to get Green's DRM working again on 5.0 I'm sure they could, but I think all their effort is going towards making DRM work in the grey app. And, IMHO, that's what they should be focused on, rather than fixing an app that will be obsolete when the grey app is fi...

Re: Cable Cards not being killed off.

I believe Nickk had a post about this awhile ago, but I can't find it. My understanding is that the new regulation would have eliminated cablecard and would have allowed the cable companies to force there own interface and use of content. It would just mean that you would be stuck with using Comcas...

Re: New prime with more tuners??

As for the DRM issues[...] You're talking about software. This is the hardware forum. I was just joking that if they came out with a HDHomeRun branded box that supported DRM playback (outputting to HDMI), that would get my interest. ;) So I wasn't talking about the HDHomeRun DVR platform and am not...

Re: New prime with more tuners??

While a new Prime with whatever new specs it doesn't really matter would be nice and all, at this point I don't really care about any new Prime hardware unless it lets me dump WMC and watch copy-protected content on something else. ;)

Re: DRM - status and questions

Reading the Siliconedust FB page and I'm seeing some comments that are more informative than anything we've seen around here in a while Except that's exactly what they last said... the problem is people keep posting a new thread about this every few weeks. Like there's gonna be some huge update abo...

Re: EyeTV + Multiple Tuners

I've never done it, so I can't really help, but you can use OS X's firewall to block packets from the Prime's IP address (assuming you've set up your DHCP server so that it stays the same). You'll have to be comfortable doing things in the command line, though. There's some sort of guide here: http:...
