It is indeed the power adapter, thanks for the advice. I've never had a plug die on my before, so I didn't consider it. Ordered a replacement, hopefully it won't take too long to arrive.

I noticed the lights on my HD HomeRun Prime 3 were not normal. The power light was not green, it was red, and the rightmost tuner light was green. No other light was on.
